I create my art starting with multiple photos, which I blend with a variety of textures (sometimes hundreds), including paint, stains and other mixed media to create layers of memories textures and feelings. London Arcade

London has these beautiful arcades which join streets and are stunning in their architectural detail. I was so excited when this composition came together. I will often have a photograph with me for several months, waiting for the perfect background and combination of texture elements. There is never the perfect background however and so I play around, build and discard until I feel the flow. I chose the colours of red/gold, purple and white and they flowed into the perfect complement for the London Arcade, Piccadilly.
